At Otley Health and Martial Arts, we are delighted to offer a wide range of massage therapies, including the following:
HOLISTIC MASSAGE
A gentle, relaxing treatment that will help you unwind from the stresses of the day by relieving muscle tension as well as clearing the mind. A perfect massage to create a balance between body, mind and spirit. (can be done with varying degrees of pressure to suit your taste).
HOT STONE THERAPY
A geo-thermotherapy treatment that uses deep penetrating hot stones to bring about chemical release creating a perfect balance between mind, body and spirit.
DEEP TISSUE TREATMENTS
The techniques in this treatment are firm in order to penetrate deep into the soft tissue to promote fresh blood flow through the muscle creating chemical release which promotes faster recovery.
SPORTS MASSAGE
A treatment that focuses on treating a specific injury or complaint. Regular massage will also help reduce the risk of injury and aid recovery.
POSTURAL ASSESSMENT
A one off procedure that helps identifies musculature imbalances. This information is then used to provide the client with a bespoke course of remedial massage treatments.
Clare is our resident massage therapist, and is also a co-owner of Otley Health and Martial Arts Centre.
Clare holds a First Class Honours Degree obtained from Leeds Carnegie University, the country’s leading sports university, obtaining in 2008 her BSc Sport (Hons).
Clare’s ITEC Qualifications are equally impressive:
- Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage
- Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, Professional Conduct and Business Awareness
- Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage
Clare has provided sports massage services at many running and walking events, and has provided sports massage services to the Huddersfield Giants Rugby first team.
Additionally, she has been a practising martial artist for the last two decades, and holds a 5th Dan Black Belt in Jujitsu, and Third Dan in Karate. As such, she is fully conversant with sporting injuries, and has vital real-world knowledge that makes her treatment of such injuries truly exceptional.
