It is based around the Kata (‘forms’) of Karate, which are fixed routines of movements symbolising combative applications. Many of them originated in the Chu’an Fa styles of gung fu in China, before being adapted first by the Okinawans and later by the Japanese.
There are many different Kata that students will be led through, ranging in complexity from just eight movements for the basic form, to one hundred and eight for an advanced pattern.
Classes are designed to be non-impactive and suitable for all levels of fitness.
